The MP for Akwatia Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Baba Jamal has launched his campaign ahead of the 2016 elections.
The campaign took place on Sunday 25th September at the Akwatia Lorry Station.
Baba Jamal was overwhelmed by his supporters when they stood in the rain wanting to hear their candidate's speech.
Starting his speech he thanked his supporters for standing in the rain to listen to him. He said. I thank you all for not disgracing me today. With all these crowd standing in this rain, you've shown me much love. There was a time when Akwatia town was disorganised, it was very hard to see people in town, The Diamond business fell flat and it was difficult living here. By God's grace He has provided us with a government which has changed things in our lives.
According to Baba Jamal, he can boldly say that there’s no village in Akwatia Constituency that he has not given them drinking water. And if he's voted for in the December 7th polls, he will make sure that every village within the constituency will be provided with electricity. He continued that, he has provided 37 boreholes in the constituency. He said Akwatia town road was what people used to bash him with and for that matter, the roads being constructed and it has been started from Papa Dogo's junction to zongo.
Baba Jamal therefore thanked the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama for helping him to fulfill his promises made to the people of Akwatia Constituency.
He pleaded with the people not to forget President John Mahama when they are voting for him on December 7th.
The deputy minister of Employment and Labour Relation finally thanked the regional and National executives of the NDC party, Nananom, his constituency executives and his supporters for attending the launching.
Kofi Adams, Felix Kwakye, Ofosu Ampofo, AmaBenyiwa Doe, Tawiah Boateng and others were at launch.
